The Problem
Agricultural labor is expensive and hard to manage. Shift planning is done on paper, attendance is hard to verify, and measuring worker productivity is nearly impossible without reliable data. Seasonal fluctuations make planning even more difficult.
- Paper-based shift schedules lead to confusion and no-shows
- No reliable way to track who was on-site and when
- Worker productivity is invisible — same pay regardless of output
- Seasonal hiring creates constant onboarding overhead
How Valvix Solves It
Shifts are planned and published in the app
Create shift schedules in the Valvix workforce module and publish them to workers' phones instantly.
Workers check in via the app when they arrive
GPS and time-stamped check-in confirms presence on site — no punch cards or manual registers needed.
Tasks are assigned to shift workers automatically
Based on the shift plan and active alerts, Valvix assigns tasks to workers at the start of each shift.
Performance is tracked through task completion
Task completion rate, average time per task, and zone coverage provide objective performance data per worker.
Managers receive a daily shift summary
End-of-day summary shows who worked, what was completed, what was missed, and any issues flagged during the shift.

What Growers Say
We have 30+ seasonal workers in peak season. Planning and verifying their work used to take our farm manager half the day. Now it takes about 30 minutes. The app handles check-in, tasks, and the summary report automatically.
We started tracking task completion per worker and found that output varied by almost 3× between team members doing the same job. That's information you can't get without a system like Valvix.
The check-in system reduced our attendance disputes to zero. Before we had constant arguments about hours. Now everything is timestamped and nobody questions it.
Common Questions
Does Valvix track GPS location continuously during shifts?
No. Valvix only records GPS at check-in and check-out. Continuous tracking is not used — privacy is important. Zone-level task assignment is done by the worker selecting their current zone in the app.
Can I manage seasonal workers with temporary accounts?
Yes. Temporary worker accounts can be created with a start and end date. Access expires automatically — no need to manually deactivate accounts at the end of the season.
Does the system integrate with our payroll software?
Attendance and hours data can be exported as CSV. Direct integration with specific payroll systems is available on request for Business plan subscribers.
Can workers see their own performance data?
You choose. Worker performance data can be visible to the worker, to managers only, or both. Most farms share data with workers as a motivation tool.
What if a worker doesn't have a smartphone?
Workers can check in via a shared tablet at the farm entrance. This is a common setup for operations where not all workers use personal smartphones for work.
